Super Andar Bahar by Evolution Review: Rules, Payouts and Real Odds

Super Andar Bahar is Evolution's live dealer version of the Indian card game, with random payout boosts on bets about how many cards will be dealt. The question each round is simple: will Andar or Bahar get the first card matching the Joker?

The maths matters more than the boosts. Andar is the best bet, with an official return of 97.85%. The side bets return only about 76-87% at their base payouts and rely on random multipliers to do better. This review keeps our calculations separate from Evolution's official figures.

How to Play Super Andar Bahar

Every round follows the same five stages, and there are no decisions to make once betting closes.

  1. 1Place your bets

Put chips on Andar, Bahar and/or a card-count range during betting time. You can play side bets alone, and you can bet before or after the Joker is shown.

  2. 2See the Joker

The dealer reveals the Joker (house card) during betting time. Its rank is the one the round is looking for.

  3. 3Wait for the boosts

When betting closes, one to five random side-bet fields get boosted payouts. You cannot bet after the boosts appear.

  4. 4Follow the deal

The first card goes to Andar, the second to Bahar, and so on in turn. The Cards dealt counter shows how many cards have come out after the Joker.

  5. 5Match the rank

The first card with the Joker's rank ends the round; the suit does not matter. That side wins, and the total card count, including the matching card, decides the winning side-bet range.

Bets and Payouts

Andar and Bahar pay fixed odds, while the card-count side bets pay more when a boost lands on them.

BetBase payoutMaximum payout
Andar0.9:10.9:1
Bahar1:11:1
1-5 cards2:19:1
6-10 cards3:114:1
11-15 cards4:119:1

36-40 cards40:1199:1
41-45 cards110:1499:1
46-49 cards800:13,999:1

These are net odds: your stake is returned on top of the winnings. A winning ₹100 Andar bet therefore pays back ₹190 in total.

Andar pays less because it always gets the first card and so wins slightly more often. Bahar's higher payout does not fully make up for its lower chance.

How the Multipliers Work

Multipliers raise the payout of selected card-count fields within the ranges above. They never apply to Andar or Bahar.

In our screenshots we saw 8x on 1-5, 20x on 16-20 and 80x on 36-40, in different rounds. A boosted field still has to match the final card count to win.

The rules say only that one to five fields are picked at random after betting closes. Evolution does not publish how often each field is boosted, how the values are weighted or exactly how the label translates into a payout. Every label we saw falls inside that field's payout range (8x on 1-5, whose range is 2-9:1), so it most likely shows the boosted payout rather than a multiple of the base odds.

A boost improves the reward, not your chance of winning.

The Real Odds and RTP of Each Bet

This table shows our calculations, separate from Evolution's figures. After the Joker is drawn, 51 cards remain, three of them matching. We worked out the exact chance of the first match landing at each position and grouped the positions into the betting ranges.

41-450.70%14477.3%
46-490.10%1,04176.9%

RTP here is the win probability multiplied by the total return on a winning bet, stake included.

Our Andar figure matches Evolution's official optimal RTP of 97.85%, and Evolution gives an overall range of 96.00-97.85%. The low base returns show how much the side bets depend on boosts. Because the boost distribution is not published, we cannot calculate the boosted RTP of each field ourselves.

RTP describes the long-run theoretical return, not what any one session will pay back. Even the frequent 1-5 range loses more often than it wins.

An Example Round

In the round below the Joker is 2♣. Dealing continues until card 19, a 2♥ on Andar. Only the rank has to match, so the suit makes no difference.

A count of 19 falls in the 16-20 range, which carried a 20x boost in this round instead of its usual 5:1. Bahar and every other range lose.

For comparison, ₹100 on Andar returns ₹190. ₹100 on 16-20 without a boost would return ₹600, stake included; in this round the boosted payout applied instead. These are example stakes, not bets we placed.

Interface, Statistics and Mobile

The table shows a Cards dealt counter, the Andar/Bahar split over the last 50 games, statistics for each Joker and three scorecards. Chat, Repeat, Double, Undo, Autoplay and +TABLE are also available.

On mobile, the side-bet grid sits in two rows below the video, with boosted fields clearly marked. For another game from the same studio, see Evolution's Teen Patti.

If a game error occurs, the round is paused while staff investigate. If it cannot be fixed straight away, the round is cancelled and bets are refunded. A lost connection is different: accepted bets stay valid and are settled without you.

Tips for Playing

  • Prefer Andar. Its 97.85% return beats Bahar's 97.00%, although either side can win any single round.
  • Keep side bets small. If you play them, use only a small part of your budget and accept that boosts are unpredictable.
  • Treat history as a record, not a forecast. A 48% / 52% split over 50 games does not change the next round's odds.
  • Expect long gaps on high ranges. 46-49 wins about once in a thousand rounds, with no pattern to when.
  • Watch automatic spending. Double increases your stake and Autoplay repeats it. Set a money and time limit before you start, and stop when you reach it.

Our Verdict

Super Andar Bahar suits players who like a simple, fast live game with the option of bigger side-bet payouts. Andar is the strongest bet on the table. The appeal of the side bets depends entirely on random boosts whose weighting is not published.

Our score is 8/10. If you prefer bluffing and real decisions during a hand, start with our Teen Patti rules. Here, choosing your bets is your only influence, and past results give no edge.

FAQ

Is Andar or Bahar the better bet in Super Andar Bahar?

Andar. Its theoretical return is 97.85%, while our calculation for Bahar is about 97.00%, despite Bahar's higher payout.

Why does Andar pay only 0.9:1?

Andar always gets the first card, so it wins slightly more often. The lower payout balances that advantage.

How do the multipliers work?

After betting closes, one to five random side-bet fields get boosted payouts. Andar and Bahar are never boosted, and Evolution does not publish how often boosts appear.

What is the RTP of Super Andar Bahar?

Evolution states a range of 96.00-97.85%, with the top figure on Andar. Our side-bet figures exclude boosts, so they are lower than the boosted returns.

Can I play Super Andar Bahar on mobile?

Yes. In portrait mode the side-bet grid sits below the video. Whether you can play depends on your casino offering the game.

Does the result history help predict the next round?

No. The deck is shuffled after every round, so past results and Joker statistics do not predict the next winner.
